eSolar

eSolar is a system for monitoring and managing local or remote maintenance of photovoltaic systems. eSolar includes a home automation engine, using the KNX communication protocol, the only global standard open for home and building automation in accordance with CEI EN 50090 and ISO / IEC 14543 standards. eSolar can communicate with most of photovoltaic inverters, energy meters, string controllers in the market through RS232 / RS485 and ETHERNET interfaces and pulse output, and it’s able to obtain the measured quantities.
It can also manage inverter groups so as to allow a detailed examinationon each part of the plant, whether different photovoltaic technologies have been used. eSolar collects, stores and allows the visualization of charts or log files graphics every 15 minutes, every day, every month and every year for 10 years. eSolar is able to obtain quantities coming from different kind of sensors and to make actuations throught the KNX bus.

SOFTWARE FEATURES eSolar can communicate with most photovoltaic inverters, energy meters, cash registers or network analysers present on the market through RS-232 or RS485 serial communication ports or pulse outputs and acquire the values measured. It can also manage groups of inverters in a way to allow in-depth analysis on sections of the plant. eSolar through the KNX bus, can acquire values coming from various types of sensors on the market and perform actuations:

  • String control
  • Monitoring of temperatures with setting of alarm thresholds
  • Detection of environmental parameters
  • Activation of automatic systems for cleaning and cooling the photovoltaic modules
  • Control of the photovoltaic plants with tracking system
  • Management of electric loads.

eSolar can replace the basic functions, typical of a surveillance system on standard KNX. eSolar can manage IP cameras to use for the video control of the plant. eSolar can be accessed through an internet browser on any type of connection: UMTS/HSDPA/GPRS/EDGE modem or LAN. eSolar displays the following values in real time:

  • Electric and environmental parameters
  • Ecological, economic, performance data
  • Temperature of the photovoltaic modules
  • Anomalies and operating status

eSolar collects, stores and allows the tabular or graphical display of daily, monthly and yearly historical data for 10 years. eSolar can monitor data and start scenarios or plans following events, in full autonomy and automatically. eSolar integrates with Solar Defender, an anti-theft system for photovoltaic panels, in order to provide a complete safety packet for the photovoltaic plant, along with IP video management.

INTEGRATION WITH HOME & BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS Communication with building automation systems is a strategic function that allows management of the loads, implementation of energy policies, start-up of domotic scenarios and increasing energy efficiency of the building. Possibility of managing up to 500 of the most common KNX objects (bit, byte, floating point etc.), with the possibility of alarm generation with dedicated decisional logic.
