2016 confirms the positive trend for photovoltaic and negative for wind and hydroelectric

The new wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric installationsin the first ten months of 2016 suffered a decrease (-4%) compared to the same period of 2015.

It confirms the growth of photovoltaics with the new installed power up to October 2016 reaching 309 MW with an increase of 26% over the same period last year. The number of production units appears also increasing  (+ 10%).
The regions which recorded the highest increase in terms of power are Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia and Sardinia, while those with the greatest decrease are Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria and Valle d’Aosta.
The regions which recorded the highest increase in terms of units of production are Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia,
Apulia, Sicily and Veneto, while those with the greatest decrease are Trentino Alto Adige and Valle d’Aosta.

Confirmed the negative trend for wind with the power of new systems installed in 22% decrease in the first ten months of 2016 (about 218 MW) over the same period of 2015, while the wind production units connected in the network are decreased by 2%.
Given the shape of the country, almost all of the connected power (99%) is located in the regions of Southern Italy.

A decline for the hydroelectric segment continues that sees the new installed capacity reduced by 32%.
The number of production units over the same period of 2015 suffered a decrease of 8%.
The regions that registered the greatest increase in power compared to the same period last year are Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Sicily and Valle d’Aosta.
