January 2019 records +695% for new RES installations

The data of the Osservatorio Anie Rinnovabili  speak for themselves.
In January 2019 the new installations of photovoltaic, wind, hydroelectric and bioenergy reach a total of about 478 MW (+695% compared to 2018), of which 407 MW from bioenergy.

In January 2019, photovoltaic installations exceeded 33 MW (+5% compared to the same period in 2018).  The number of connected production units is increasing (+9%), mainly due to tax deductions for citizens. Residential plants (up to 20 kW) account for 61% of the new installed capacity in 2018.
The regions with the greatest increase in terms of power are Abruzzo, Basilicata, Liguria, Marche, Tuscany and Valle d’Aosta, while those with the greatest decrease are Emilia Romagna, Molise and Sicily. The regions with the highest increase in terms of production units are Basilicata, Calabria, Piedmont and Umbria, while those with the highest decrease are Sardinia and Valle d’Aosta.

January 2019 registered 31 MW of new installations for wind power, a +316.810%, considering that in the same period of 2018 only 10 kW of micro-wind plants had been activated. As far as the territorial spread is concerned, most of the connected power (99%) is located in the regions of Southern Italy.

In January 2019 there were about 6 MW of hydroelectric installations (-73% compared to 2018).
On the other hand, there was an increase in production units compared to January 2018 (+125%).
The regions that recorded the greatest increase in power compared to the previous year were Piemonte, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Valle d’Aosta.

As regards bioenergy plants, in January 2019 there were 407 MW of new installed capacity (+6.496% considering that in the same period of 2018 only 6 MW had been activated) corresponding to 31 plants, of which 397 MW are distributed over 11 plants with a capacity exceeding 1 MW.
